Growing Tips:
-Kava thrives in warm and humid conditions. protection from cold is a must! Outside of tropical climates it is advised to grow kava in a greenhouse or indoors.
-For lighting, it's important that kava plants are started out in partial shade; eventually exposing them to stronger light slowly as they get older and become more established. Choose a VERY well-draining fertile soil and keep it consistently moist.
-Do not allow plants to become rootbound as this can lead to nutrient and water uptake problems... not to mention lower your yields.
-Good air flow and garden hygiene is a must! Kava is susceptible to infections so its important that as your plants grows it gets plenty of fresh air and the the D's (dying, damaged, diseased) are removed from the plant as well as the surrounding area.
With patience and proper care, plants can be harvested in 2–5 years for traditional root use.
